HOW TO POTTY TRAIN YOUR PUPPY THE EASY WAY

We've all been there. You get a new puppy and it's so exciting. They are so cute and playful!

But, alas, the real work now begins. 

Not only do you need to worry about your new pal chewing everything in the house, from furniture to your shoes, but you are getting tired of cleaning up every time they urinate on the carpet. You need to get them potty trained and fast.

While there are many different methods available to complete the task, one has stood the test of time and was the one that we used when training our golden doodle. It was astonishingly easy and she was trained within a couple of weeks. 

All you need to do is follow the easy steps outlined below.

Next, be diligent in this task if you want to succeed. You will need to take your pup at least a couple of times per day if you are going to make this work.

When taking your pup outside, grab a treat and show it to them and brush their nose or paw against the bells so they ring. Do not give the treat to them yet.

Next, take them immediately outside and tell them "do your business" or another trigger word that you would like to use that is short and easy to remember.

Once they do the deed, praise them by saying "good puppy - you did your business".

Always remember to use the same trigger word again when they finish. 

This is the time to give them the treat! They will then associate this action as a good one. 

Immediately take them back inside.

It may take a couple of days or a couple of weeks, but with diligence and consistency, your pal will be trained in no time.
